Is This Card a 10?

My first inspiration for this card was to follow the challenge by Kim at Day 24, Terrific 10 at 365 Cards to use at least 10 designer papers. I think I did, but my challenge to 365 cards is to count and make sure I did! LOL. I kept losing count coz I kept changing my mind! Then I saw the sketch challenge at The Pink Elephant Challenge #59 using the circles to layer the differrent DPs. Then I need a color choice so I went to The Play Date Cafe Challenge #22 to use the following colors:

So that is how this card came together.

That's all for tonight. Can't complain about the snow anymore, so I guess we'll gripe about all the rain, wind and cold! Just heard on the news that Farmington had two different situations where they had to pull people out of flooding creeks. Oh my!

Butterflies are Free!

Well, not actually, when you consider all the gear you have to buy to make cards. The Cuttlebug was on sale for $50., the butterfly die was probably around $15., the pearls a mere couple dollars, the texture plate around $5.00, the cardstock was a dollar or so, oh yeah, adhesive, the ribbon is a few pennies, the button I won at Magic In the Air and time taken to make the card - priceless! Are we to $100. yet? So if I sold this card, just how much should I charge? Bottom line, don't tell my husband!

I followed the sketch at 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday Day 21.
I like this sketch, clean, neat and easy!
The inside of the card...

I was also inspired by the color challenge at Res-Q to use SU! colors, apricot appeal, regal rose, certainly celery and tempting turquoise. Also inspired by 'two-lips', I mean, tulips!

I was also inspired by the color challenge at Satuday Spotlight to use use your birthstone to chose the colors for the card. My birthday is in June 20 (yes, I accept presents, tee-hee). My stone is Alexandrite or Pearl, so I combined the 2 colors and the Pearl. Alexandrite is a stone that can appear to bluish or reddish. [ummm, kinda fits my personality!]

This also is being entered in the following challenges:

  1. Allsorts - Spring is in the Air

  2. Crazy 4 Challenges - Spring Theme

  3. Hand Full of Stamps - remove the dust, butterfly die cut hasn't been used forever!

  4. Fab 'n Funky - use something new, the button

  5. Jacksonbelle Embellishments - use something new, the button

  6. Rosie D's - Think spring (I'm not only thinkin', I'm prayin'!)

  7. Sweet Stampin' - Spring is in the Air

  8. No Time To Stamp? Stamp Simply #131 - add texture and keep it CAS

Thanks for stopping by and the kind comments that you leave. Have a great week!

Little Bird In the Sky

Like others, I am soooooo ready for spring so I 'needed' to make a card with light spring colors! I made a card similiar to this before and didn't like it because of the colors I used so I CASED myself! I've said it before and I'll say it again, SU! is really getting with the times with their new cling stamps and punches. Thank you SU! (by the way, if you need any SU! gear I am a demo and can get it for you...just had an order today...thanks Kim!)
I am also liking the paper flowers I am seeing everywhere. Maybe I should schedule a day where I just make embellishments and use up all my scraps. Today I dug out my crochet hook and thread  to 'practice' making crochet flowers. It's been awhile and I'm really having to work at keeping that thin little thread in my hands and get the tension right. Ah age...!  I messed up the middle of one, therefore, a button center!

Back to my card. The deets of the card meets requirements on several challenges. They are:
  1. Crafty Creations Challenge to make a flower
  2. Cupcake Craft Challenge to add flowers
  3. Die Cuts Dreams Challenge to use at least punches, I used 3.
  4. Die Cuts R Us to make paper flowers.
  5. Challenge Up Your Life to use a flower
  6. Just Us Girls to make a flap card
  7. Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge that anything goes
  8. Pile it On to use pastel colors
  9. 365 Cards Day 11, Lovely Landscape
Enough for tonight, need to make some St. Patty mints for the office staff while I watch Brothers and Sisters!
Have  a great week.

Pot 'O Gold

This is a Chocolate-Mint little Leprechan! (1)Welcome to Colour Create Challenge Blog has the most yummy inspiration chocolate-mint creme pie picture. If it hadn't been a rainy, coldish day I would have run right out to buy a pie that looks just like the photo!

Wow! Instead I stayed home and used the colors to make a St. Patrick's Day card. The little leprechan jumping in the pot of gold is a free digi by Nina May at (2)There's Magic In the Air. Hurry, today is the last day you can grab the freebie, but Monday you can find it in her store at Paper Cupcakes. The layout of the card is based on the sketch challenge at (3)Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog. I also based the color on the following challenges asking for Green colors on the project:
4. Stamp Something
5. Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge
6. Penny's Challenge
7. Raise the Bar Challenge
8. Simple Doodles Challenge
Then I followed the recipe at 9.Everybody Art Challenge to use 2 DP, 2 Flowers and 2 Buttons.
And the last challenge said  Anything Goes! 10. Paper Cutz.

And to keep up with my DD Kim, I finished the inside also!
Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of your week-end.

Thank you - With all my heart...

and all the little people that helped me win this Oscar! It could be me, but, instead, here I sit at my lonely desk, making a Thank You card, just in case, just in case, just in case...they call my name! I should win something, after all I made 2cards in one day!

I was motivated today to jump into the Day 7 - Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 Card challenge. I played along quite a bit last summer then - it was back to work, ah, work! Well, now my DD Kim is on 365 Cards Design Team and she 'made' me promise to play along...just coz I use to boss her around, now she thinks she can boss me...oh, sorry, got a little side tracked there.  (ps you can check on Wednesdays for Kim's DT cards)

Well is here my card designed according to today's sketch at 365 Cards.

I have also entered it into 2 challenges to make an easel card, Lili of the Valley and Penny Black Saturday Challenge. A fancy fold challenge was set by Kaboodle Doodles which I accomplished by making an easel card. One Stop Craft Challenge asked to Sew Simple,  that would be a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine with gold thread. And 3 challenges asked for a monochromatic color scheme, they are: 1) Pile It On, 2) Crafty Challenges anc 3) Stampin' For the Weekend.

Well, the Oscars are still going but I'm done until next year. Then I'll keep waiting and waiting for them to call my name. I really thought George would ask me to be his date, but, oh no, he had to take that other girl...

Happy Birthday Little Bird!

Had to use my tools I just got from Ellen Hutson, both are Martha Stewart punches: Double Scallop and Deep Edger - Daisy Fan. To make the circle behind the bird, I punched out the Daisy Fan twice and then cut them down to match the 2 fans.

I haven't done a Mojo Monday sketch for quite some time so I decided this was the week-end to take advantage of it. Such a neat layout and pretty simple too!  Below is the inside of the card.

I have also entered this in other challenges.

  1.  CCEE - inspiration challenge. I picked up on the brown and green colors with the little pop of reddish orange. I really like this combination!

  2. Mojo Monday Challenge to follow the sketch. I think I stayed pretty true to the sketch.

  3. Creative Card Crew - It's a celebration! I chose to celebrate Birthdays!

  4. The Pink Elephant - asked for green to be added to the color combo.

  5. By the Cute and Girly - set a spring theme, flowers and birds sing spring to me!

  6. C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - set a Mothers Day/Flowers Challenge

  7. Gingersnap Creations - a Birthday theme, Happy on the front, Birthday on the inside!

  8. Hand Full of Stamps - To let it shine! Well, my DP has shine to it and spring is sunshine to me!

  9. Other Lovelies - think bright and warm and spring!

  10. Simon's Says - Mother's Day or Girly, ah-my DH wouldn't want this card so it must be girly!

  11. No Time to Stamp - punched borders, check out the inside!
  12. Rosie D's Challenge - Think spring!  Ahhhh...
No snow, but we're in for a week of rain - ah, the sounds and smells of spring - ah, the allergies!
